In April 2020, 10 days after Governor Murphy’s stay at home orders, the Caresparc team mobilized 43 of its community partners and organize the COVID-19 Emergency Response Distribution Effort (CERFDE) to address food insecurity in the City of Newark. Over 15 months, the CERDFE delivered 1.4 millions pounds of fresh produce and essential food items to 2,000 seniors and families.
