Artists and Creatives Health and Wellness Initiative

Artists and Creatives are disproportionately affected by the affordability of healthcare plans and income instability, resulting in them being an underserved population for health insurance in the United States. A 2013 online survey conducted by the Future of Music Coalition (FMC) and the Artists Health Insurance Resource Center (AHIRC) found that out of 3,402 respondents, 43% are uninsured. This is double the national estimate of 18% (2). There are many reasons for this disparity compared to the general population.
The ACHWI is for uninsured Artists and Creatives that would like to learn about access to insurance and start the enrollment process through a series of comprehensive healthcare workshops in Newark, New Brunswick, and Jersey City.
