The SHWV Festival Scholarship Art contest is a component of the SHWV Festival. The intent is to enhance the understanding of high school juniors about the significant healthcare challenges in resource-limited communities, inspire them to contribute to improving quality-health opportunities in their communities and motivate them to actively pursue scholarships to further their academic pursuits after high school.
SHWV Festival Scholarship Art Contest winners have the opportunity to:
- Receive a brand new laptop and a $1,000 Scholarship from CareSparc Community Connections to attend their chosen college, university, or vocational school.
- Serve as the Student Statewide Festival Ambassador. CareSparc Community Connections will prominently display the winning artwork at the Artist Village at each festival location across the state and on the official SHWV festival t-shirt.
- Work alongside a professional muralist, integrating their work on a traveling mural that CareSparc Community Connections will display at each festival location.
